THE VOLUNTEER CENTER

The Volunteer Center at United Way of Frederick County is a full-scale volunteer deployment program accounting for tens of thousands of volunteer hours annually.  Each volunteer project is designed to support ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households or improve the Frederick County community.  Projects range from skilled volunteers in the VITA (Volunteers in Tax Assistance) program, to Stuff the Bus school supply drive, to Day of Action, as well as Summer Serve and a wide variety of business volunteer matching partnerships.

FOR INDIVIDUALS

Sign up through the JustServe website, and each volunteer will be updated when community volunteer opportunities come up throughout the year. 

FOR BUSINESSES AND GROUPS

United Way of Frederick County coordinates volunteer activities such as team building projects for corporate businesses and groups, especially when assisting corporations achieve their social corporate responsibility goals. Using United Way of Frederick County's extensive network of nonprofits and public projects, opportunities are developed to fit the company's goals and interests.  Please contact Latosha Adams at ladams@uwfrederick.org today to learn more and find a project that’s right for your team.

FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

If an organization is a registered 501(c) (3) organization, government agency, neighborhood association, eldercare facility or public school that accepts volunteers regardless of race, ethnic origin/nationality, religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability, United Way of Frederick County can assist in recruiting volunteers to support the organization.

United Way of Frederick County is matching passionate volunteers with worthycauses.  JustServe is a volunteer matching application that matches the right donors, advocates, and volunteers with the right opportunities in Frederick County communities. Organizations can make a profile and post opportunities for volunteers. Volunteers sign up for a profile, select their interests, and are contacted when an favorite agency has an upcoming opportunity.
