THE VOLUNTEER CENTER

The Volunteer Center at United Way of Frederick County is a full-scale volunteer deployment program accounting for tens of thousands of volunteer hours annually.  Each volunteer project is designed to support ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) households or improve the Frederick County community.  Projects range from skilled volunteers in the VITA (Volunteers in Tax Assistance) program, to Stuff the Bus school supply drive, to Day of Action, as well as Summer Serve and a wide variety of business volunteer matching partnerships.

GET CONNECTED

Get Connected is a free online tool for any non-profit or volunteer in Frederick County. United Way of Frederick County provides this service as a way to connect local resources with local needs, because together we can accomplish so much more!

FOR INDIVIDUALS

Sign up through the Get Connected website, and each volunteer will be updated when community volunteer opportunities come up throughout the year.  GetConnected is a partnership between United Way of Frederick County and United Way of Washington County.  Both organizations believe in the critical nature of community-based volunteerism.

FOR BUSINESSES AND GROUPS

United Way of Frederick County coordinates volunteer activities such as team building projects for corporate businesses and groups, especially when assisting corporations achieve their social corporate responsibilty goals. Using United Way of Frederick County's extensive network of nonprofits and pubic projects, opportunities are developed to fit the company's goals and interests.  Please contact Latosha Adams at ladams@uwfrederick.org today to learn more and find a project that’s right for your team.

FOR NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS

If an organization is a registered 501(c) (3) organization, government agency, neighborhood association, eldercare facility or public school that accepts volunteers regardless of race, ethnic origin/nationality, religious affiliation, gender, sexual orientation, age or disability, United Way of Frederick County can assist in recruiting volunteers to support the organization.

United Way of Frederick County is matching passionate volunteers with worthycauses through the Get Connected website. GetConnected is an easy-to-use website that matches the right donors, advocates, and volunteers with the right opportunities in Frederick County communities. Organizations can make a profile and post opportunities for volunteers. Volunteers sign up for a profile, select their interests, and are contacted when an favorite agency has an upcoming opportunity.
