Nancy Wilson

Nancy Wilson is the Frederick County Getting Ahead Facilitator and Coalition Administrator. She is responsible for organizing the activities of the Frederick County Getting Ahead Coalition, a partnership of four Frederick non-profit organizations (Seton Center, Society of St. Vincent de Paul, United Way of Frederick County, and Frederick County Office for Children and Families). The Coalition plans, oversees, and facilitates Getting Ahead workshops for people seeking help with stabilizing their economic situation and building resources to improve their lives.

Getting Ahead participants create their own plan for a sustainable life, explore resources needed for sustainability, build healthy relationships with others, begin the process of writing their own future stories, and examine how they can change the legacy they leave to their families and community.

Nancy's "day job" is working for Wells Fargo, managing technology development teams in the Wealth and Investment Management Division. Prior to joining Wells Fargo, she worked in technology development and support for various corporations, mostly in the financial services industry. Nancy worked her way through school and currently holds a BA in Journalism from Temple University and a Master's degree in Computer Systems Management from the University of Maryland.

Nancy has lived in Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington, DC, but when she moved to Frederick, she quickly fell in love with the city and adopted it as her hometown. She has volunteered many hours in community service here with many local organizations. She has been a board member with Steadfast (Standing Firm Against Youth Homelessness), a Frederick County Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), a STEM mentor with Woman to Woman Mentoring, a Scholarship Grants Committee member for the Community Foundation of Frederick County, a process facilitator for Frederick County Local Health Priorities, and a Student Mentor for the Housing Authority of the City of Frederick.

In her free time, Nancy likes to read, lift weights, and travel.
