Your Story Matters. Share It.

Powerful stories help us advocate for policies and raise awareness about local issues.

United Way of Frederick County works every day to make Frederick the very best place to live, work and raise our families. We’ve achieved amazing results over the years and helped hundreds of thousands of our Frederick neighbors.

But numbers are only part of the story. They can’t tell us how programs and services across our community are transforming people’s lives and helping them create opportunities where they once saw obstacles.

These are the stories that inspire and motivate. They remind us all of what is possible and why the work of advocates, policymakers, service providers, and volunteers standing up for change is so important.

Why share your story?

By telling your story, you make your voice heard and help put a face on issues that we continue to see in our community. More importantly, in coming forward, you have the opportunity to help change the future for millions of Americans. Whether your story is about how you or your family has benefitted from one of United Way services or programs, or it shows that you still struggle, we want to hear from you.

How does it work?

A member of our staff may contact you to learn more about your situation and to ensure that United Way of Frederick County understands your story in detail. We may ask you to share your story through an interview with a staff member, at an event, with a policy maker, or even with a reporter.

We will always ask your permission before we release any contact information or use your story, and you can always opt out of any opportunity.
