MLK Day of Service

MLK Day of Service – Monday, January 16, 2017

Got MLK Day off? Make it a day on instead.

The great civil rights leader once said, "Life's most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?" MLK Day is a chance to kick off the New Year in a positive way by building unity through community service, and inspiring others to do the same.

Looking for an MLK Day service opportunity?

We have teamed up with the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of the Asian American Center of Frederick to put together a "clearinghouse" of service opportunities for this year’s MLK Day. Our goal is to create a one-stop shop database that will feature as many service projects taking place in Frederick County as we are made aware of. There is already a wide variety of coordinated family-friendly service projects at locations across the county, providing residents of all ages with ways to help our community. We hope that you will find one that best suits you and join hundreds of local residents in honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy.
